1 large can apple pie filling 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbl. sugar 2 tbl. butter
Place pie filling in the bottom of a buttered 13 by 9 inch pan. Sprinkle with a mixture of the cinnamon and sugar. Dot with butter.
CAKE: 2-1/4 cups sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup shortening 2 eggs 2/3 cup milk 1/4 cup molasses
Sift together all dry ingredients but the sugar. Cream sugar with the shortening. Add eggs,then milk and molasses, beat thoroughly. Add alternately with the dry ingredients, blending thoroughly after each addition. Pour batter over the apples in the pan. Bake 350 degrees 50-60 minutes. Cool 10 to 15 minutes then invert onto serving platter.
