2 cups flour, sifted 1/4 cup sugar 1 tbl. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/3 cup shortening 3/4 cup milk 2/3 cup raisins, chopped 1/2 cup butter, melted 1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon
Sift together all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with pastry cutter or two knives. Stir in milk and raisins. Turn onto lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/2 inch. Cut into rounds with floured doughnut cutter. Arrange doughnuts on cookie sheets. Brush with melted butter. Bake 12 minutes in a 425* oven. Brush again with melted butter. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon to make cinnamon sugar.
