Your child should enjoy playing in this costume, even after Halloween. Parental supervision is recommended.

Cardboard
Construction paper (to match color of turtleneck and leggings)
Plastic headband
Pencil (to draw cat ear patterns with)
Scissors
Tacky glue
Socks
Large safety pins
Craft paint or markers, optional
Face paints
Dark turtleneck
Dark leggings

Draw cat ears on the cardboard. Cut out the ears. Cover with construction paper using glue. Attach the ears to the plastic headband.
Make a tail out of stuffed looong socks (sports socks from husband work well), safety pin to the seat of the leggings. If you use white socks, you can use some old craft paint or markers to color it same color as outfit.
Draw cat whiskers on face and color the nose dark.

A good source of girl costumes is to go to yard sales, and buy up all the dance outfits you see. These make great dress-up clothes, and can be utilized for all sorts of costumes.
