Brownies: 1/3 cup butter 1-1/2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup chopped pecans 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Golden Butter Icing: 1-1/2 tbl. butter 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla light cream
Brownies: Melt butter, stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. In a small bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt.Add to the butter mixture and blend well. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350* for about 30 minutes, until the top springs back when touched lightly. Cool.
Browned Butter Icing: Put butter in a small saucepan and heat until golden brown. Remove from heat and add icing sugar, vanilla, and enough cream to make a mixture that is easy to spread. Spread on cooled cake. Cut into squares.
